How do I create a New York Times account as a SCC student? What if it isn't working?

Creating a New York Times Student Account plus who to contact if created account is not working,

Answer

You can register for a New York Times online account for free through SCC Library's subscription. You must be a current student, faculty, or staff member to sign up and use your sccsc.edu email address. If you are on-campus when you register, you can just create your account. If you are off-campus you will be asked to enter your portal user and login to verify that you are associated with the college, before you can create an account. DO NOT USE THE SAME PASSWORD FOR THE NEW YORK TIMES ACCOUNT AS YOUR SCC ACCOUNT.  IT WOULD COMPROMISE YOUR SCC ACCOUNT AND IS AGAINST SCC POLICIES TO SHARE YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD WITH THIRD PARTIES.

If you create an account and it is not working, contact New York Times for assistance at edu@nytimes.com  If you are unable to get assistance through New York Times email, please contact Ask a Librarian.
